Buy A Shirt & Give Back to a Black-Owned Business!
BriarPatch is a proud supporter of the Black Hives Matter Project.
In 2020, the Co-op donated $2,000 to the campaign that is allowing Beekeeper Cameron Redford to reach his dream - to purchase an apiary (bee farm) where he works in Nevada City. The community raised $40,000 for this campaign, bringing a loved and long-standing honey business under Black ownership in one of the least diverse county in California, while providing local food, medicine, employment and educational opportunities.
In 2021, we continue to support Cameron as he takes his project to the next level.
“We are finalizing the purchase and have our new label, Black Sierra Honey Co. We are looking to grow but are in the grips of such an intense drought that keeping the hives we have sustained is challenging. We expect to be selling our honey under our new brand by March!,” said Cameron. You can support this Black-owned local agricultural business by purchasing a Black Hives Matter t-shirt and know that a portion of the proceeds of your stylish purchase benefits Black Sierra Honey Co. ✊🏾🐝🍯
